The 2019 editions of the trade shows promoted by Cipa Fiera Milano are expected to attract 15,000 professionals from various industry segments in Brazil and Latin American countries.
São Paulo, March 2019 –Cipa Fiera Milano launched, on February 26th, the 10th Tubotechand a 4th wire South Americawhich take place between October 1 and 3 in São Paulo. With the presence of exhibitors and partners, the event also served for an analysis of the country's current situation and for projections regarding the holding of the trade fairs.
For Rimantas Sipas, commercial director of Cipa Fiera Milano, the strong partnership with Messe Düsseldorf in organizing trade shows is one of the reasons for the success achieved in Brazil. “And this year’s editions of Tubotech and wire South America are repeating those strong results. So much so that more than 80% of wire exhibition space has been sold, and Tubotech is expected to occupy 800 m² at São Paulo Expo,” said the executive.

The event was also timely to guide companies on how they can make the most of the two trade fairs. Cipa Fiera Milano expects the two trade fairs to welcome 15,000 professionals, including architects, consultants, controllers, engineers, machinery manufacturers and importers, industrial maintenance managers, and designers coming mainly from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Spain, the United States, India, Paraguay, Peru, Turkey, and Uruguay, as well as from all Brazilian states.
Positive scenario
According to Rimantas, the reforms being announced by the government should give a new “boost” to various industrial sectors, which will be beneficial for trade shows this year. Data from Abinee (Brazilian Electrical and Electronics Industry Association) reinforce this view that the country’s economic recovery is gaining momentum. Revenue for the electrical and electronics industry reached approximately R$ 146.1 billion in 2018, a nominal increase of 7% compared to 2017. According to Abinee, this result represents a real increase of 2%, after adjusting for inflation in the sector, which, according to the IBGE’s Producer Price Index (IPP), stood at around 5% last year.
The results, according to Abinee, show the great potential of the sector. Some segments that drive the wire and cable industry, represented in the wire South America, stood out in 2018, according to the association, such as Industrial Automation, which had revenue of R$ 4.69 billion, up 5% from 2017; Components, with R$ 11.11 billion, or 5% more; Installation Materials, R$ 7.54 billion, up 2%; Telecommunications, at R$ 33.48 bi, up 5%; and GTD (Electric Power Generation, Transmission, and Distribution), with R$ 17.77 billion, 9% more than in 2017.
