In yet another edition, Tupy will be present at the Tubotech | International Trade Fair for Pipes, Valves, Pumps, Fittings and Components. The most important trade fair in the Americas for the sector will take place from October 3 to 5, 2017, at São Paulo Expo, in São Paulo.
According to Amauri Baggenstoss, Commercial Director of the Hydraulic Unit, the trade fair will be strategic for Tupy at this time, serving as a showcase to present the new lines of fittings and valves to the market, as well as reinforcing the differentials of the company's other products, which is one of the leaders in the cast iron fittings segment in Brazil and exports to over 40 countries. “We believe in a recovery in the domestic market in the medium term, with new investments, in addition to the continuous growth in the competitiveness of our products in the global market. That is precisely why we are investing in the launch of new lines of fittings and valves, as well as the expansion of our range of thread seal tapes, So says the executive.
For Tubotech 2017, the Hydraulics Business Unit is launching three new product lines under the Tupy brand, offering increasingly complete solutions. In total, there will be 332 items. Among the highlights:
TupyForged It is the line of forged steel fittings developed specifically to withstand even higher pressures. They are made predominantly for high-pressure and/or high-temperature industrial installations, and are applied in liquid and gaseous fuel installations, high-pressure hydraulic systems (oil and pneumatic), as well as steam installations.
TupyValves It is the line for flow control. The foolproof leak-tightness is the great differential of Tupy valves, tested and approved in Brazil and abroad, after being exposed to the most severe conditions. It has applications for gas systems, hot and cold water, or steam.
TupyGrooved It is the line that offers a perfect fit and the security of technical support from engineers all over Brazil. Ideal for fire prevention systems, with advanced coupling technology. To create the new lines, Tupy researched and tested all materials extensively, ensuring that all products meet the most demanding quality and safety standards, in addition to complying with Brazilian regulations and Tupy's own requirements.
THREAD SEAL: Tupy is also expanding its line of thread seal tape, which now includes two models: Clássica, the traditional tape for residential use, and Extra, a higher-density tape for professional use.
Regarding the industrial hydraulics market, Tupy will also bring to Tubotech its already traditional lines of BSP, High and Medium Pressure NPT malleable iron fittings, TupyFix, and Tupypres. In addition, it will introduce to the market the TupyProject custom product line for specific sanitation and gas applications, available by custom order. Continuous iron profiles, which serve a wide variety of industrial segments, will complete the fair's portfolio.
The 9th edition of Tubotech, which will bring together hundreds of exhibitors from the pipe, valve, pump, and fitting segments, aims to attract around 15,000 highly qualified professionals from the automotive, oil and gas, metal construction, food, furniture, mining, paint, and infrastructure sectors, among others. The biennial event is promoted by Cipa Fiera Milano in partnership with Tarcom Promoções, organized by Brazilian Association of the Metal Pipe and Fitting Industry (ABITAM).
About the company
Tupy was founded in 1938, in Joinville, Santa Catarina, by Albano Schmidt, Hermann Metz, and Arno Schwarz, to produce malleable iron fittings in the country, which had previously been an imported item in Brazil. In 1958, it signed its first contract to supply iron automotive components, which is its main business segment today.
The 1970s marked the internationalization of Tupy, which was already exporting fittings to South America and Europe and established offices in the USA and Germany. In the 1990s, the company ceased to be a family-owned business and its share control was acquired by a group of pension funds and banks. In 1998, it acquired a foundry plant in Mauá, São Paulo. In 2012, it acquired two more foundry plants, this time in Mexico, expanding its production capacity and strengthening its presence in the iron components market for agricultural, mining, and construction machinery.
Tupy is certified under ISO/TS 16949 (an automotive sector-specific standard), ISO 9001, and ISO 14001, and employs about twelve thousand people. The company exports half of its production to approximately 40 countries.
