9th edition will be held from October 3 to 5, 2017, at São Paulo Expo/SP

Luiz Roberto Gravina Pladevall, President of APECS – São Paulo Association of Consulting and Service Companies in Sanitation and Environment, talks about the overview and expectations for the 9th edition of the Tubotech | International Trade Fair for Pipes, Valves, Pumps, Fittings and Components.

The event, consolidated as the Americas' premier trade fair for the sector, will bring together hundreds of exhibitors and aims to attract around 15,000 highly qualified professionals from the automotive, oil and gas, metal construction, food, furniture, mining, paints, and infrastructure sectors, among others.

According to Pladevall, Tubotech brings together the most important manufacturers and experts in the field and contributes to the constant improvement of new technologies in the sector and solutions for various segments. According to the executive, Brazil presents several opportunities to ensure greater investment in sanitation. “The National Basic Sanitation Plan was launched with an initial investment projection of over R$ 508 billion to achieve universal access to water, sewage, waste management, and drainage services from 2014 to 2033. To date, approximately R$ 70 billion has been invested in projects in the sector. Long-term planning is necessary to ensure the quality of the systems to be implemented. This also creates opportunities for companies interested in the sector, whether through PPPs (Public-Private Partnerships) or other models.”.

Highlighting the sector’s outlook and citing data from the Ministry of Cities, investments in basic sanitation are expected to total R$ 1.230 billion in 2017, an amount 24% lower than that invested in 2016. “Funding allocated to basic sanitation projects in the states fell by 30.3% in the 12-month period ending in April 2017. This shows that the economic crisis had a direct impact on public finances, affecting projects that are essential for the country.”.

Pladevall also emphasized that sanitation projects are essential for reducing numerous diseases, in addition to having a direct impact on tourism and local development. “The federal government needs to seek alternatives to continue these projects.”, finished.

In a context of recovery and new opportunities in this and various other infrastructure segments, the Tubotech | International Trade Fair for Pipes, Valves, Pumps, Fittings and Components, holds its 9th edition in 2017.

The event, created in 2003 and now consolidated as the Americas' leading trade fair for the sector, expects to gather hundreds of exhibitors*, spanning 20 thousand square meters, and aims to attract around 15 thousand highly qualified professionals from the automotive, oil and gas, metal construction, food, furniture, mining, paints, and infrastructure sectors, among others.

Tubotech is organized by Cipa Fiera Milano, promoted by Tarcom Promoções, and held by the Brazilian Association of the Metal Pipe and Fitting Industry (ABITAM).
